We were awarded the Secured by Design (SBD) Gold Award for incorporating crime prevention techniques into the landscaping and physical security of the buildings, which is part of our advanced security efforts at Apex House in London.
Secured by Design (SBD) is the official police security initiative working to increase the security of buildings and surrounding areas, to provide safe places to live, work, shop and move around in our daily lives. In light of this initiative, the SBD criteria determined by the Designing Out Crime Officer (DOCO) from the Metropolitan Police Service, worked with Ant Yapı UK to reduce possibilities for crime and anti-social behavior and to assist with security.
Proven measures related to crime prevention techniques according to community order and landscaping included creating defensible space and ensuring that areas outside of homes have adequate lighting. For these developments, we were deemed worthy of a gold award by Secured by Design.
Met Police Designing Out Crime Officer Lee Warwick said about the award: “I am very pleased that this development received a gold award. Ant Yapı UK has implemented proven crime prevention techniques. They have used accredited doors and windows and in addition, they have also taken our advice on design and layout. Gold awards are rare and Ant Yapı UK has worked hard to meet our high standards for crime prevention.”
